Setup

1

Remove tiles from the game:

3 players: remove 12 domino tiles

2 players: remove 24 domino tiles

In short:

There are 12 domino tiles per player in the game

This allows each player to fill a 5x5 grid

Since each domino tile has 2 spaces = 24

Plus 1 castle space = 25

Shuffle the domino tiles and put them in the bag

or stack them in the tower - depending on the game version

The numbered side should face up in the tower

Each player receives:

1 castle

Place your castle on a starting square

1 wooden figure in the color of the castle

Are there only 2 players?

Then each player gets 2 figures

Before starting, draw tiles from the tower's bottom or the bag

3 players: 3 tiles

2 or 4 players: 4 tiles

Arrange the tiles in ascending order

Then flip the tiles so the images are visible

Determine the starting player order

One player takes all player figures in hand and randomly drops them on the table

The figure that falls is immediately taken by its owner

and placed on any available domino tile

This is how each player selects their first tile

The domino tiles also determine the player order

Goal

1

Place the largest possible areas of the same color with many crowns

At the end, count the contiguous squares of a color

and multiply them by the number of crowns in that area

Do this for all the areas you have placed and add them together

The player with the most points wins

Gameplay

At the start of each round, draw the same number of domino tiles as at the start of the game

3 players: 3 tiles

2 or 4 players: 4 tiles

Arrange them again in ascending order and place them next to the other tiles

Flip them so the image side is visible

The player with the top figure starts

The figure on the tile with the smallest number

Place your figure on a free tile from the new row

This is how you choose your tile for the next round

And the player order for the next round

Take the domino tile with your figure and place it in your play area

The tile can be rotated freely before placement

At least one space must connect to an existing space of the same color

The overall grid can be a maximum of 5 spaces wide and tall

The castle doesn't have to be exactly in the center

If you can't or don't want to place the tile, remove it from the game

Put it back in the box

Once all tiles in the current row are placed, the next round begins

As before, first draw tiles, sort them, flip them over

and place them next to the existing domino tiles

Repeat this until there are no more tiles left

Scoring

1

Count the squares in your largest area

Count the crowns in that area

Multiply the number of squares by the number of crowns

No crowns? Then that area scores 0 points

Repeat this for all the areas you have placed

Add the points together

The player with the most points wins
